European Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Piero Lunghi Conference 2026

The European Fuel Cells and Hydrogen – Piero Lunghi Conference (EFCH₂) 2026 is a prominent international scientific and industrial event organized by ENEA, in collaboration with ATENA (High Technology District for Energy and Environment), the University of Naples Parthenope, and the University of California, Irvine. The 2026 edition will take place in September on the island of Capri (Naples), at the Grand Hotel Quisisana, welcoming researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers interested in hydrogen, fuel cell technologies, and clean energy systems.

Established in 2005, the conference has developed a strong international reputation and today represents a strategic point of convergence for stakeholders involved in the global energy transition. In real fact, EFCH₂ serves as a key platform for presenting the latest scientific and technological advancements in the field, offering a unique opportunity to foster new collaborations and promote the exchange of technical, industrial, and commercial knowledge related to hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. In this context, the symposium aims to address the complex technical and scientific challenges of the sector by providing a rigorous overview of the current state of the art, as well as outlining development perspectives in the short, medium, and long term.

Within the EFCH₂ framework, experts from academia, research institutions, industry, and public authorities share research results, practical experiences, and strategic insights, focusing discussions on emerging trends, critical challenges, and innovative solutions. These include the entire hydrogen value chain, hydrogen production, storage, and utilization, as well as new fuel cell technologies, clean energy systems, and pathways toward decarbonization.

The international hydrogen and fuel cell community is invited to submit abstracts by June 22, 2026. Submissions should provide a concise summary (up to three pages) highlighting the main research activities to be presented. Contributors may choose between oral presentations and poster sessions, selecting from a wide range of research topics. All authors of accepted contributions presented at EFCH₂ 2026 are eligible for the Best Paper Award.
