The 3rd Italy-Korea Symposium on Disaster Prevention and Preservation of Cultural Heritage using Advanced ICT Technology | Smart resilience of historic areas and archaeological sites
Experts from Italy and South Korea will gather in Rome for “The 3rd Italy-Korea Symposium on Disaster Prevention and Preservation of Cultural Heritage using Advanced ICT Technology | Smart resilience of historic urban areas and archaeological sites”, 7 November, 2023.
The advancements and the real of opportunities that the implementation of ICT technologies, including Metaverse, Digital Twin and Heritage Building Implementation Modelling HBIM is providing towards the conservation, promotion, valorisation and fruition of cultural heritage and related intangible values will be showcased. Resilience, sustainability, and smartness are all essential and strictly interconnected features essential for the preservation and valorisation of cultural heritage; the 3rd Italy-Korea Symposium aims to point out and highlights that the on-going digital transition and the advancement of ICT technologies are providing an unprecedented opportunity towards that.
Following the success of the previous two events, the 3rd Italy-Korea Symposium will also be an opportunity to take stock of the collaborations and joint projects on Cultural Heritage Preservation using Advanced ICT Technology already undertaken between Italy and South Korea and to plan for new research proposals under the Horizon Europe funding program and South Korea funding program.
The 3rd Italy-Korea Symposium, is organized and hosted by ENEA Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, in collaboration with ETRI , Electronics and Telecommunication Research Institute in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU signed between ETRI and ENEA in 2022 and NUCH, Korea National University of Cultural Heritage.
